Roy is simply a pleasure to be around; energetic, charismatic, and the very definition of an entrepreneur. In terms of the food sector and Real Estate, he has few peers and fewer still surpassing him in terms of achievements and knowledge. Vision without execution is hallucination and Roy is the very anthesis of this with a rearview mirror full of momentous achievements based on what he has "done". What he will do will be fascinating and worthwhilewatching. Onward...

Initially developed as an expansion of Running Sushi into the real estate space, with the acquisition and operation of two dark kitchens across the UK. This grew into the largest dark kitchen company in the UK creating a disruption in the online food delivery market and lowering the barrier to entry for various food startups and major food brand players with over 45 dark kitchen locations. Key Accomplishments: ● Invested own capital for establishment of the first facility which was 100% occupied at opening, running and managing all aspects of the business for the first 12 months of operation in order to prove concept. ● Once POC was established, raised capital through private investment, growing the business from 3 kitchens to 45 in a period of 18 months with 100% occupancy at launch of each site. ● Headed all operational aspects of the business including but not limited to Real estate development, business strategy, operations, finance, growth and scale. ● Headed product and real estate development from initial ideation through development to launch and product refinement, constant product optimisation, and increased scalability. ● Controlled due diligence and market rationale for over 15x in real estate and business growth within 18 month by deep market analysis, saleable price of product, creating cost efficiencies in CAPEX budgets to increase chargeable space at the same cost, rigorous hands on project management and decreasing TCO both for the business and the operators. ● Led the successful acquisition of FoodStars by CloudKitchens.

Founded Running Sushi in 2011, becoming the first known online only food brand and dark kitchen globally. Quickly grew the business into a £300k revenue business, leveraging online ordering platforms and acquired an industrial property and converted it into two dark kitchens, one for the sushi operation and the other to hire out in order to cover overheads. Quickly realised the demand for renting of kitchens and the associated market and financial opportunity, and rented the second sushi operating kitchen to food operators, turning this into the main focus of attention. Expanded the opportunity to over 100 different entrepreneurs leading to a 24/7 operating kitchen rental business and 100% occupancy within 1 month of idea trial. Key Accomplishments: ● Ran all aspects of the business and participated in every role including working as a sushi chef and a rider in order to decrease direct expenses and sustain operations ● Secured the highest possible loan (£25k) from virgin startup in order to continue developing the dark kitchen concept which led me to creating FoodStars.
