Served one year in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, 2 years in Korea with the 2nd US Infantry Division, 4 years in Hawaii with the 25th (light) Infantry, also spent six months in Haiti, six months in Israel, six months in Egypt with the 10th mountain division (light). and travelled in Germany, Japan, and Alaska.
