My area of interest is epidemiology in general and specifically Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) epidemiology. I have been working in Mycetoma Research Centre for the past six years, in disease surveillance in endemic states for mycetoma in Sudan. Along with international and national collaborators, we established a protocol for data collection related to mycetoma patients in rural areas using electronic techniques. Moreover, using the data compiled at the Mycetoma Research Centre (MRC) we modelled the distribution of mycetoma along Sudan which set up a base for future projects to determine the burden of mycetoma in Sudan and apply the scheme for determining the burden the mycetoma burden regionally and globally.
