Adriana Preda
I have known Adriana since she joined The Social Incubator as a volunteer in September 2005. Also, I've known her in my capacity as Adriana's peer at The Social Incubator for about 1 year (since September 2019). Hence I have been able to observe Adriana's impressive, fast paced evolution from a highly enthusiastic communicator into now a pragmatic, doer-type, NGO manager who is able to properly balance her innate skills and abilities with those acquired/ enhanced for overall work effectiveness. The non-profit domain is a very challenging environment, with the peer group's performance always high and the required workload intensive – our organization is no exception. Overall, Adriana has grown into an invaluable asset for any organization she is part of, given her key strengths: enthusiasm and ambition, intellectual curiosity, emotional intelligence, communication skills and analytical skills. She is first and foremost a very enthusiastic person, with outstanding intellectual curiosity, able to generate and drive high-value, innovative ideas forward. She was extremely involved in the organization`s activities as a volunteer and always was open to help, but taking into account the novelty of the domain and her limited professional experience with non-profits at the time she joined our team, Adriana displayed exceptionally fast learning skills (underpinned by her high intellectual curiosity) and managed to substantiate numerous valuable ideas due to her highly creative approach to research. Therefore, in just a few months, our organization had a new identity, extremely appropriate for our cause and mission, which was implemented in both external and internal communications. Also, she built a new department (Communication and Fundraising) and increased the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. Equally, Adriana is a very socially-aware and socially-astute person, very often stepping up to foster social cohesion in any group/ team she is part of. Picking one of several similar examples: with her coordinating the Communication and Fundraising department, in a very busy time of the year, Adriana sensed on the decreasing energy level in the team and acted like a "social glue" by instilling a cheerful team atmosphere, having motivating individual discussions with younger colleagues and organizing a couple of social events. Therefore, all goals were successfully achieved. Adriana is very assertive and managed to significantly hone her communication skills. Moreover, she has very good analytical skills – she is able to find proper solutions against tight deadlines, based on very good, native problem-solving abilities. I used to work with Adriana for several EC funded projects in RDI and HR development. Young and very professional, Adriana is one of the most competent PR specialists I ever collaborated with. Well organized, focused and, most of all, with a lot of initiative, she demonstrated along the time that she is able to apply her skills in various projects and to produce a sound impact on the public. She is also a serious and supportive colleague and having her in the project team is beneficial not only for successfully achieving the project results, but also for securing a sparking and motivating atmosphere in the team.
