Masters Thesis Project
-
Jul 2013 - Dec 2013
I conducted my M.Eng thesis project at the University of Toronto, working in the Advanced Aerospace Structures group. My project used a FE formulation and continuous fibre angle optimisation to develop a novel design method for practical composite laminates with spatially varying fibre orientations. This research was extremely interesting, and highlighted the diversity of composite materials compared with conventional metals. I found this six month project very stimulating, as I was surrounded by doctoral and postdoctoral students from many different cultures, pursuing original ideas and exciting research topics – forming a very creative and diverse environment.
