Field Engineer

Served as the Field Engineer for the RailWorks/Delta Railroad Joint Venture portion of the initial $2.1 billion-dollar Southwest Light Rail Green Line Extension (SWLRT). Performed construction and quality control for ballasted and directly fixated track for light rail passenger transit and freight rail. Performed upgrading, maintenance, and shifting freight track for BNSF and Twin Cities & Western Railroad. Participated in six successful outages for freight track shifting projects. Assisted superintendents with QC inspections, material deliveries, de-stressing, anchoring, spiking, finalizing surfacing and lining, performing various maintenance work, and operating maintenance-of-way equipment and vehicles. Supported track inspector with weekly hi-rail and walking track inspections in accordance with FRA-213 and AREMA standards. Assisted project managers and engineer with material quantities, overall quality control, and site analysis. Documented rail laying, de-stressing, welding, material delivery, daily work, safety observations, safety audits, pre-construction turnover, and concrete pour reports. Drafted and designed direct fixation concrete pour system for "top down" method, other various direct fixation supplies, and de-stressing rollers using AutoCAD. Supervised and managed local labor union 563 and operator union 49 employees. Consulted with other engineers, inspectors, managers, Metropolitan Council representatives, other contractors, and the general public for scheduling, quality control, inspections, material relocation, and public affairs.
