I am the UK lead for the ecology discipline in WSP Environemnt and Energy and am a member of the senior management team for Planning and Environmental Protection. My role at WSP is to provide leadership to the UK ecology team and to grow the ecology business. Since I joined WSP the ecology team has experienced strong growth with good growth prospects for the future. My role includes financial management, recruitment, managing and mentoring members of the team, client liaison, winning work, quality assurance, health and safety management, troubleshooting, raising WSP's profile, project management, ecological impact assessment, public inquiry, mitigation and consultancy advice. I am a determined and resourceful individual who likes to make a positive difference in whatever I do. Rossa works in WYG's Sutainability and Environment capability where he is head of WYG's Ecology discipline. Supported by 30 full time ecologists Rossa is responsible for the delivery of WYG's ecological services nationwide. This involves managing all aspects of the ecology business including: business development; marketing; sales; bidding; recruitment; managing and coaching staff; reporting to the board; business planning; quality control and improvement. Rossa is an environmental scientist with 20 years experience in the fields of ecology, arboriculture, microclimatology and atmospheric chemistry. He holds Natural England licences for bats and great crested newts and provides specialist advice on sustainable design both at landscape (city-region) scale and individual plot-district scales. He also specialises on how plants can be used to improve air quality in urban and peri-urban areas and has recently published a book on the subject. Show less
