During my time with the RNZAF I served on RNZAF Base Woodbourne at the Airframe Reconditioning Squadron (ARS) in the Safety Equipment Bay and also was involved in the paint stripping of P3 and A4 aircraft. After finishing my senior trade training in 1989, I was posted to RNZAF Base Auckland where I served on No's 5 and 40 Squadrons, as well as in both the Man Carrying and Cargo Parachute Bays and in the Base Paintshop.
