During my time at Tesco I was awarded the “gold service superstar” award for outstanding customer service. This award is only given to two colleagues each year, and so I am proud to have earned this award which is voted for by fellow colleagues. I have worked with Tesco PLC since turning 16, whilst in which I have learned many valuable skills from the many departments I have worked on. Working on the checkouts has improved my people and communication skills as it revolves around interacting with customers. My time-management and team work skills have also improved since working within the fresh team to make sure all daily jobs are completed and done so efficiently between the team. Show less

I worked at the company for 3 years whilst completing my A-levels. During my time there I learned to work under supervision and in a team. Also, there was a fixed time constraint to complete the clean of the lodges each day, so the role taught me the importance of time management. This two week work experience was split into two parts; the first was working with the design engineers and the second was working on the factory floor. During the first week I worked with design engineers where I was taught how to use solidworks to a competent level using their training programs, I was also shown the processes in which the engineers must go through to get parts authorised to the aviation standards. I was also made accustom to an office environment. During the second week I was placed in a team on the factory floor that worked on aftermarket parts for first class sections of airliners such as British Airways, Emirates and Qatar. During this week I was given the responsibility of making the parts, packing them to procedure and attaching the relevant paperwork and shipping information. Show less
