Having worked with a number of product managers personally, one would struggle to find one more adept at managing the expectations of stakeholders, needs of the business, and input from engineers as Rosie. For the two years Rosie and I worked together directly, I was endlessly impressed with her ability to manage projects and produce timely, impactful results. Exersaur was born out of a class at Brown University where a a few students and myself had an idea to develop a wearable game application designed to encourage children to exercise. We were accepted into Brown University's inaugural on-campus incubator - Brown Venture Labs - where we continued to develop our concept as an independent study. We partnered with researchers at the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center in Providence, Rhode Island, who served as advisors on adolescent exercise requirements. We incorporated these requirements in the biometric engineering and gamification elements of our application and applied together for a Small Business Innovation Research grant from the SBA.
