I have worked with Rose over the past few years and greatly admire her professionalism and knowledge she has brought into the organization. Rose is also extremely creative and someone whom I rely on and trust implicitly. She brings a depth of knowledge with her and has made a great contribution to our thought leadership in strategy and the financial services sector.

I worked closely with Rose for almost 2 years as a media manager, during which time she showed herself to be a fantastic colleague, able to manage challenging demands and timescales, develop great client and supplier relationships and deliver effective and innovative media strategies for clients. She had particular strengths in negotiating effectively with media agencies to deliver savings for clients, as well as developing the scope of the media team and the services we offered. Intelligent, adaptable, hard working and fun - she was a great person to work with.

I worked within the KPMG Customer Practise, part of the Management Consulting arm of the firm. Our focus was on taking a research and data lead approach to generating business growth for our clients through helping them to improve their customer, employee or patient experience. I worked closely with our delivery teams to continually evolve our methodology. This has included adapting our core customer experience proposition to suit the public sector, with a focus on service user and patient experience. My core focus however was business development, leading tender/bid processes and on-boarding them as they become clients. This involved developing relationships with senior colleagues and clients, attending conferences, collaborating with marketing to deliver targeted communications and deliver against financial targets.

My role as Commercial Director at Precedent involved me taking responsibility for devising and delivering our end-to-end Sales and Marketing strategy in the UK. Our clients stemmed from the Charity, Education, Healthcare, Membership and Financial Services sectors. My immediate priority when I took on this role was to run a change project to address a key area of weakness in our sales pipeline - early lead generation. This had previously been done on a purely in house basis. I focused on diversifying this by developing relationships with intermediaries, technology partners and third party lead generation agencies. To properly manage this process, I implemented Salesforce customer relationship management technology, leading the successful procurement, set-up and roll out of the platform. This bolstered Precedent’s ability to respond to an increasingly challenging and ever changing marketplace. As a member of the UK Board, I was privileged to be influential in setting the strategic direction for Precedent in the UK, which involved refining the service offering to focus more purely on digital, and developing a combined sales and delivery strategy with their Alliance Partner KPMG.

As Head of Sales and Marketing, reporting to the UK Board, I was responsible for marketing and business development activities in the UK, and worked in an advisory role to the team delivering these functions in three offices across Asia Pacific. As well as being responsible for converting a sales pipeline based on achieving an ambitious 25% growth in sales year on year, I managed a team composed of a Business Development Manager, a Business Development Assistant and a Marketing Manager. In addition I took an active role in: - the preparation and delivery of proposals, pitches and marketing communications- the planning and production of our marketing calendar and thought leadership reports- speaking at our seminar series (example below)Above and beyond my day to day role, I also:- helped launch our new digital strategy offering- acted as an internal project sponsor for the re-launch of the Precedent website, - travelled to Australia to speak at seminars, and provide training and support to the local sales and marketing team

Working to achieve annual sales targets, my role as Business Development Manager was two-fold, covering both bid management, and the preparation and delivery of bids in the form of proposals and pitches. Bid Management: I had an overview of the sales pipeline and reviewed all bid opportunities that came in, assessing their suitability in terms of commercial viability, match of requirements against Precedent’s services and internal capacity to produce a winning response. Bid preparation and delivery: I took a consultative approach to creating bid responses in order to win new business in line with Precedent’s business development strategy. I presented ideas and insights as well as proposed methodology, budgets and credentials both on paper and face to face. I worked with people from across the agency to gain their input into proposals and I lead pitch teams through the preparation and presentation of pitches.

At this employer branding agency I planned and managed UK based and international multi media advertising campaigns, from initiation, through media buying and implementation to campaign management and analysis. This included SEM/SEO, digital advertising, print advertising and advertorial, radio, outdoor, event sponsorship and experiential advertising. I was also responsible for negotiating and monitoring the agency’s media contracts, reporting directly to the board on their performance. In my first full time job after University I worked as a media buyer on the graduate scheme of this leading London media agency. My role focused primarily on consumer print media but with a significant level of involvement in commercial radio and outdoor campaigns. I worked for a diverse range of clients from the retail, travel and fashion industries including Asda, Beiersdorf, Hermes Perfumes, ASOS and Tourism Australia. I benefited from Carat’s extensive graduate training programme, and developed strong negotiation skills and a solid base of industry understanding. This position required a highly organised approach, with an emphasis on building strong relationships within the industry.
