Caxton Youth organisation is an evening and after school organisation for the learning disabled. I am developing a programme of work that inspires skills for independence. So far this has included projects on transportation & accessibility, disability rights, money management, young enterprise, skills for life, developing personal skills and personal safety. On a daily basis I manage volunteer recruitment, coordinate youth activities, the holiday programme and the Jack Petchey award, as well as uphold child safeguarding. I have recently been piloting a young women's learning disability advocacy group. My aim is to boost networking with other local Westminster organisations and increase opportunities for inclusion. In particular, I set up and run volunteer opportunities for young people with disabilities in the local community. Follow us on Twitter: @caxtonyouthorg Show less
