ASI is part of the European Space Agency (ESA) which has a close collaborative relationship with NASA. ASI has made important contributions to space exploration, building scientific instruments that have traveled with NASA and ESA probes, and has even sent a number of Italian astronauts to the International Space Station(ISS). The Luigi Broglio Space Centre is part of the ASI space centers that is located in Malindi. It is a Tracking, Telemetry, and Control station that is used during satellite passes along the equator. Its numerous parabolic antennae help the station adequately monitor satellites during the Launch Early Orbit Phase (LEOP). It also has a remote sensing department that aids in Earth Observation.
