Working for a large social housing association within a community based centre providing a range of facilities, support and experiences to local residents, many with complex needs and chaotic lifestyles, under the heading of common themes including employment, housing, environment, health, anti-social behaviour and anti-poverty. My role is to plan, develop, organise and facilitate a wide variety of projects and customer facing work to narrow the gap and equip people to better manage their everyday lives. This includes employment and careers advice, digital inclusion, support with debt and money, housing and welfare benefits, one to one coaching, education and access to training. Each customer is supported on an individual basis and no one size fits all. Work together in partnership with other internal and external teams and providers. Lead responsibility for the development of employment support and digital inclusion. Responsible for the health and safety in the building. Training, safeguarding and domestic abuse and travel champion. Coach for the organisation and mentor for other colleagues and volunteers. Based within Children's Centres offering early intervention support for families with children under five years. Included support with a whole range of issues including behaviour management, sleeping, feeding issues or parenting skills whilst working towards meeting the Every Child Matters outcomes. Duties includes writing reports, maintaining up to date records of contact for each family, case studies, completing contracts and risk assessments. Support families in claiming benefits such as community care grant and in obtaining low cost furniture or other housing issues. RoSPA trained to complete home safety check lists and risk assessments and to procure safety equipment for families.
