I managed the performing arts programme, Hospital Notes, providing music performances for staff, patients and visitors, as well as creative activities for older patients. I worked closely with the Occupational Therapy team to deliver weekly reminiscence therapy sessions for patients with dementia. I was an active member of the Dementia Strategy Group striving to improve the care of patients with dementia and establishing dementia friendly ward environments. I developed links with local universities and colleges (in particular Bath Spa University and City of Bristol College); overseeing student placements and paid internships, providing young artists with the opportunity to gain experience of the use of arts in healthcare.
