Woking with a team of student consultants at the university of Nottingham to develop Shoe Aids business model and distribution strategies was absolutely fantastic. With in depth networking skills, we were able to source potential partners for shoe aid, in order to help shoe aid transport used shoes from all over Britain to its warehouse, where they can be re-donated to those in need or repurposed with the ultimate goal of reducing footwear poverty in the UK. Reaching out to regional big players such as Zara and Amazon east midlands on behalf of shoe aid was an amazing opportunity to grow networking and consultancy skills.

This was the conference of a lifetime. At the UN headquarters for Africa in Nairobi, me and thousands of other students got the chance to simulate real life diplomatic debate that world leaders often carry out at the headquarters. I lead a team of other students to draft a resolution aimed at curbing water hyacinth along the shores of Lake Victoria. Whilst our resolution was not passed by the student general assembly, it solicited lively debate from people in support of our resolution and people who were against it on the grounds of improper funding allocation. Nevertheless, our work was read out at the UN headquarters and I was able to network with international students from all over the world. It was an invaluable learning opportunity where I was able to speak in front of thousands, and research worldwide current affairs.
