  Chassis and Suspension Team Lead· The role includes designing key components and the suspension geometry of the car whilst managing a sub team of six students. · Through the role I have practiced advanced CAD skills during the design of the tubular space frame as well as complex chassis and bracket jigs. · I designed this year’s suspension geometry by reviewing last year’s suspension data and adapting it to our new wheels before optimizing it through simulation in Optimum-K. This involved looking at the basic vehicle dynamic principles and ensuring that I got the best balance for the type of track the competition is held on. · I have spoken with multiple suppliers to source the materials for this years chassis before organizing the laser profiling of the tubes to decrease manufacture time.· I am currently working alongside a fellow team member analysing tire data on Excel and Matlab to decide which tire compound and aspect ratio we should go with for this season.
