Fresh off the boat and my first career type job. A wonderful place to work, surrounded by great people who covered the gamut of the maritime industry in terms of experience. MRC has since spawned a number of very successful companies. This was my maritime degree. Where else could you deal with the ship owner, charterer, ship financier, trade finance bank, bunker supplier/broker/trader, ship agent, insurance company, maritime lawyer and everyone else with an exposure to one single vessel or cargo, in an average day? Spent three good years in Oxford before I was given the opportunity to develop their business in the Asia Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, my role involved building on relationships developed in the UK with the largest companies and corporations in Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, and Malaysia. I had the opportunity to establish and develop agents for the business in Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney. Enjoyed everything about working there, great people in the office, and met some great people on the road. Show less
