I manage a group of advisors across 3 different teams, who work in both legal and non-legal positions. It is my job to ensure that these different teams run smoothly on a daily basis, and to provide support and assistance to advisors when needed. Another aspect of my job is being responsible for monitoring advisors' work, to ensure it is up to the standards which the firm expects, by listening to and scoring their advice calls. I also assist with mentoring new starters and teaching them the various case management systems that we use, as well as assisting my colleagues with research when required. Show less

My role at Irwin Mitchell is to give legal advice to clients on any matter of UK law. The sheer scope of the role means that my work is always stimulating and challenging, as in one moment I can be advising on a breach of contract claim, and the next I can be stating the requirements for a valid will or helping an employee through an unfair dismissal claim. This area of the job has provided me with comprehensive experience of advising within the legal sector, in addition to honing my people skills, as each client is in a very different situation and this has to be acknowledged and witnessed by the style and tone of the advice given. I am also responsible for assisting newer starters in the workplace, be it by helping them with research, delivering training, issues of process or in a more general sense by helping them feel welcome.
