Bio
Susan Goff (PhD)
I have had the pleasure of knowing Ron since the mid 1990s when I joined the ALARA management committee. Ron, along with the other committee members, was a source of inspiration and exemplary commitment to the wellbeing of the field we both share and love - action learning and action research. When I wrote my first book, Ron (along with Ortrun Zuber Skerrit and Jacques Boulet) was there to provide an opportunity for it to be published through Southern Cross University Press. It was a very difficult thing in those days for action research to be recognised by publishers, and Ron's advocacy for the work and the meaning of it was very important to all the participants. I respect Ron particularly for his independence of business operation in the action learning field. It's a tough road in many ways, but always so rewarding. The existence and strength of ALARA today owes much to Ron and his equally devoted partner, Anne-Marie Carroll. Thank you for inviting me into the world of AL-AR and walking alongside my progress and that of so many developing practitioners for so many years.
