I met Ronny as student some years ago and, since from the beginning I felt a great empathy with Ronny due to his commitment with the studies, ability to learn and readiness to help his friends. As person, Ronny is very polite and friendly, able to embrace causes and accept challenges. In scholar works, Ronny needs a certain induction time before get the peak speed to end his tasks. Furthermore, he likes to do his best in order to achieve the perfection. Recently, Ronny was invite by me to collaborate in some designs of by Welding Technology book and he accepted the challenge, doing a really good job which can be seen in my book (case study drawings). More recently, he embraced other challenge under my invitation, writing scientific papers for me regarding his colleagues' thesis and, once again, Ronny has got success with the first publication of a scientific paper with about 30 pages in the journal COATINGS (MDPI). Moreover, every time I asked Ronny for help welcoming people from other countries, participate in Accreditation processes of the Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and so on, I always had a positive response with a strong commitment with our causes. Thus, I strongly recommend Ronny as a competent Engineer, able to contact with people in the best way and overcome problems using his skills and intelligence. I hope him a nice career.

Invited by my Graduate thesis advisor, I have been working alongside several research teams to help create and deliver quality scientific research in the Mechanical Engineering field at the School of Engineering, Polytechnic of Porto . The research focus area has been broad and has helped my develop deeper knowledge in topics such as: - Production/Assembly line improvements (e.g. output rate gains of 19% achieved at one facility); - Product improvements regarding material, manufacturability, quality, cost and environmental impact (e.g. 30% weight reduction in truck components leading to improved fuel economy); - Material behavior and treatments. This has allowed me to present the findings of my teams work at several international engineering conferences. Other services that I have provided in this role are: - Translation/proof-writing of documents such as scientific articles, thesis reports, presentations, etc.; - Public speaker at conferences and other events regarding research topics and ongoing projects; - Aid students with laboratory work and experiments. Parallel to my graduate degree studies, I also work as automotive mechanic, performing repairs, modifications and restorations to vehicles at my own home/shop. Vehicles are a passion of mine and therefore having this component in my life is very rewarding. From performing routine maintenance to complete engine overhauls, there is no task that i can't tackle. By incorporating my engineering knowledge into the mix, I provide my clients with unique 3D solutions tailored for their specific objectives or desired modifications. By maintaining the highest quality standards and committing to doing the best job possible, I keep cars running problem-free for longer while generating satisfied costumers. Show less

While attending the 27th International Conference on Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing in Modena, Italy, I met a Professor from Ohio University called Dr. Dusan Sormaz, and learned about his ongoing research project. Fast forward a few months and I was kindly invited by the Industrial Systems Engineering department at Ohio University to be a guest researcher on a team headed by Dr. Dusan Sormaz. The research aim was to aid the continuing development of a simulation software tool devoted to the optimization of manufacturing production and process planning, called IMPlanner. My contributions to the project (which are currently still on going at the moment), are mainly in the milling and additive manufacturing fields of knowledge. Alongside the research project, I was also able to produce, collect and analyze several parts created with several additive manufacturing technologies and materials, to incorporate into my ongoing Graduate theses project. This allowed me to develop a deeper knowledge in the additive manufacturing field as well as to gain practical experience by running different equipment and experiments. In conjunction, the evaluation of the accuracy of 3D printed parts was tested via the use of optical laser scanners and software. Show less

As an intern in the Product R&D team in a rapidly growing tool manufacturing plant, I became well accustomed to a fast-paced environment, with pressure and strict deadlines to meet targets while maintaining very high quality standards. I had the opportunity to further develop my skills in areas such as 3D designing, continuous improvement, team management, stock management and troubleshooting manufacturing issues. All in all, a great learning experience.
