I first met Ron while we both were employed at Target. Even though we didn't work together, I knew of him through his reputation as an exceptional leader/manager. This continued to hold true as Ron hired, trained and developed me into a successful leader/manager at Bed Bath and Beyond, later in my career. His ability to communicate clear expectations, manage execution and drive profitable business results led our district to great success. When I had the opportunity to grow my career, in another organization, Ron was my biggest supporter. He selflessly encouraged me to pursue the opportunity for career growth. He had my best interest in mind. There are very few leaders/managers that exhibit the skill set and qualities of Ron Cheatham.

I was hired by Ron Cheatham at Greyhound Lines INC to be the City Manager of Nashville Tennessee. Ron was not only my Regional Manager but my mentor as well. He exemplified the Servant Leadership philosophy. I had no experience in being a City Manager and Ron made sure he organized a training path for me so I would be successful in my role. I went to several other cities to work with other proven City Managers. I was impressed by Ron’s diligence and he kept in touch with me weekly until my training was completed. Upon my return I was very prepared for success and with Ron’s continued help and support I was able to make Nashville one of the best cities in the company. Ron has also shown me how important it is to pay attention to detail and the importance of being an expert in all aspects of my role. These are tools that I will take with me in the future. I am certain that Ron Cheatham will be an asset in any endeavor he chooses to pursue in the future.
