I have been acting as Student Ambassador, representing the Dublin City UniversityAccess Programme for the past three academic years. My work has involved visits toDEIS (Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools) schools with the purposeof raising awareness among students about the various routes available tothem in getting into college. As part of my role, I delivered presentations at the schools to both students and their teachers. I have also been involved in organising andconducting campus tours.Working as an Ambassador has proved to be such a rewarding experience,having received positive feedback from the students and their teachers/tutors. Having worked as an Ambassador at the First Year Access Orientation Programme 2017, I was invited to act as Orientation Co-ordinator in 2018. I had responsiblity for the smooth-running of the programme, involving 100+ students and 14 staff members. The programme was a three-day, residential one. Part of my role was to ensure that the incoming students felt welcome in the college and that their introduction to DCU was a positive one.
