  While a maintenance staff member, I was asked to take over as Director of Facilities, utilizing my knowledge and skills to replace an outsourced $110K annual management contract. Creating and managing the maintenance and janitorial budget while supervising and mentoring staffs during daily operations of campus infrastructure were my primary responsibilities. I worked with the IT department to design and create an electronic work request program for staff, faculty and student body to utilize. I created preventive maintenance programs for buildings and major equipment, enabling the University to discontinue a $48K annual service contract. I encouraged my Vice-President to enroll Concordia University into Austin Energy’s Green Power Program, becoming the 1st University nationwide to enroll 100% green power, which locked electrical utility rate in for 10 years. I joined the team guiding Concordia University through the process of selling existing campus, searching, selecting and purchasing new campus site, selecting project manager and contractors for build out of new site, then organizing and moving the University staff and faculty to new campus.
