My role consists of orchestrating the installation operations of new signage and rebranding signage as specified by clients. I supervise all onsite personnel activities and equipment operations. I verify safety and regulatory compliance. Clients include Pilot Travel Centers, Loves Travel Centers, Flying J's Travel Centers, Subway, Arby's, and Taco John's. I also provide surveys and reviews to other contractors to ensure their compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements to mitigate reputational and liability risk. Projects I’ve done that I am proudest of include: • Installation of 150 ft. tall High-Rise gas & diesel price sign for Pilot Travel Centers with paired Arby's sign in Lincoln, AL. • Erection of 78 ft. tall gas & diesel price sign for Loves Travel Centers with paired Taco John's sign in Drayton, ND. This project involved installing a 6 ft. circumference support pipe to below ground depth of 32 ft. and drainage of flooded shaft. • Construction of diesel & gas price sign for Flying J Travel Centers with paired Subway sign in Olive Branch, MS. I was the founder, owner, and general manager of Advanced Neon, a neon signage and installation firm that evolved into Collins Sign Service Inc., a full-service sign company. Orchestrated all operations and administrative functions. Led expansion from 2 to 15 team members, in addition to three installation crews using three crane trucks, Bobcats, and trailers. Designed, fabricated, and installed customized signage for clients in a wide array of materials. Installed and relocated billboards and road signage for SCDOT and other agencies. I sold the company in 2018. It still operates under new ownership under the name SC Custom Signs. Projects I am most proud of include: • South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) commissioned project to relocate 278 existing signs along a 14-mile-long stretch of White Horse Road to facilitate a road widening project. • Designed and installed outdoor theater marquee and interior neon signage for the Regals Cinema 20 multiplex theater in Greenville, SC. • Interior and exterior neon signage for "Moovies" video rental chain in NC and SC. The whimsy and humor of the neon-lit corporate mascot (a horned bull wearing blue and red tinted 3-D glasses and chomping on a strip of celluloid film) along with the "Moo Releases" section signs, earned honorable mention from Sign of the Times magazine and sparked photos going viral throughout the southeastern United States, greatly expanding consumer recognition for the store chain. • Both Interior neon and exterior channel signage for 30+ stores for the ULTRATAN tanning salon chain located throughout NC, SC, and GA. For SignStar I supervised daily operations of the installation department and oversaw all projects. I procured required permits for projects, I Programmed scheduling for site surveys, concrete deliveries, installation operations, and final inspections. I kept clients informed by providing a clear understanding of project installation process, daily progress reports, and accountability to ensure customer satisfaction. Due partly to my efforts, the company’s installation output consistently among the best in the industry. Projects I am most proud of include: • Ongoing maintenance for illuminated Regions Bank sign mounted just below the 38th floor setback on 100 North Tampa, the tallest skyscraper in Tampa, FL. Sign installed before service with company. This is probably, to this day, the highest sign in Tampa. • Exterior illuminated corporate logo sign for IQVIA mounted on office building in Tampa, FL. • Interior illuminated corporate logo signage for Oracle Elevator Company for offices located in Tampa, FL.
