-Worked on largest class action suit in country by doctors & hospitals across country vs. every health insurer in the country for alleged bad faith denial & slow payment of health ins. claims. I was the lone paralegal on the case, working alongside attorneys, reviewing the same documents they were reviewing-Supervised six (6) subordinates in the cataloging of thousands of documents from two (2) acquired companies into CompuCom’s proprietary electronic document library to thereafter serve as a company-wide, searchable information silo. Had a leadership role in the design & implementation of the process to be utilized. Trained incoming members of the project team. Reviewed team's work from a QC standpoint-Reviewed & analyzed numerous contracts for a financial institution in the midst of a merger. Made recommendations to financial institution as to whether to terminate or see the contract through to the end of term. Made recommendations as to best approach to anticipated future negotiations, resulting from the merger. Received ltr. of recommendation, describing my analysis & recommendations as “impeccable,” “spot on” & “adding immense value”-Reviewed 135 CBAs for the leading provider of integrated srvcs for face-to-face marketing & brand-building events. Review successfully assisted company to avoid fines in consequence of an Exec. Order, going into effect on 1.1.17, which will require all entities with contracts w/Fed. gov't to provide sick leave to all employees. To provide company w/leverage in its union negotiations, I determined what other fringe benefits, such as vacation leave, health & welfare benefits, & pension benefits the company is already contractually obligated to provide. Completed review 2 days ahead of deadline-Work for law firm, representing Trustee in “complex” Life Partners Ch. 11 bankr., which is purportedly the largest fraud in Tex. history-Coordinate sequestering of vehicles for Harley-Davidson, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan & Toyota

Senior Paralegal - Contracts
-
Mar 2014 - Dec 2015
- Draft all contracts requisite to run 110 nursing homes (SNFs / ALFs) throughout the States of Texas and Louisiana. Focused upon making certain that Providers and Vendors alike provided SCC’s facilities with excellent service. This focus resulted in, for example, a significantly beefed up insurance provision, which now tracks state law, as well as a previously nonexistent “response time” provision, consistent with national standards, for all ambulance contracts. This focus also resulted in state-of-the-art pest management and landscaping contracts, which did not previously exist at Senior Care.- Headed a major research project in an effort to preserve the foundation’s tax exempt status concerning its award of scholarships to employees seeking to further clinical careers. The project required review of applicable sections of the Internal Revenue Code, as well as an innumerable number of Private Letter Rulings. - Taught classes on redlining to coworkers.
