I was responsible for taking photos, writing stories, layout, editing, managing an assistant in the days I used to have one, knowing what was going on in the sports world of Leeds and Grenville and sometimes beyond that area, deciding what was going in the sports section and what had to be left out. Knowledge of a wide variety of sports was a must. May 1975 - Present
It's a position that involves working mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, whenever sports is happening. Then, after covering an event, stories had to be written and edited, photos had to be place and headlines written before I designed the layout for the pages. I have organized sports associations in the city, coached a variety of teams in the city and been involved in a number of other organizations in the city, including the Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame for the past 20 years.
