  I am the only full-time Physics instructor for Southern Union. I teach both the trig and calculus based Physics classes. As all science instructors do at Southern Union, I conduct both the classes and the labs, which allows me to get to know my students better than just having them in a classroom. My class size ranges from around 10 students up to a maximum of 28, depending on the semester and type of class. My method of teaching Physics is to present the main concepts and ideas of this broad topic with many examples of applications. My hope is that students from varying backgrounds and experiences can begin to grasp these fundamental laws and principles of nature. Then as they develop their understanding of the physics, they can begin to develop their ability to apply these laws and principles to areas of interest to them, whether as an engineer, a physical therapist, or whatever else their talents and interests lead them into. It greatly encourages me when I hear from former students telling me they were hired by a well-known company as an engineer, or they are working toward a doctoral degree in Pharmacy. Show less
