Redmond Burke
Ron Edwards was my Football and Wrestling Coach at Monta Vista High School from 1972 to 1976. He was a singularly talented coach, notable for his emotional intensity and loyalty to his players and colleagues. My personal experience with Coach Edwards was very rewarding. He took a personal interest in my academic goals - I wanted to become a heart surgeon - and my athletic goals - I wanted to play football at Stanford. Thanks to Coach Ron's efforts, I was able to achieve both of those goals. It's hard to convey how valuable his work was when he was a young teacher and coach, I doubt that he even knows how powerful his influence was. He made a positive and lasting difference in my life. I'm a better man because of him. I'm happy for his success and happiness, and would recommend him to anyone as a tireless and relentless innovator. Sincerely, Redmond Burke MD
