RPL is an esteemed design team based on-campus at the University of Southern California. Here, a student-led group performs research, design, analysis, simulation, and more in order to perform multiple static fires and rocket launches. RPL is the first ever design team in the nation to have a student-made rocket pass the Karman line. I myself am part of the Data Acquisition Team (DAQ) within RPL, which is tasked with collecting data regarding pressure and temperature within the casing of the rocket pre-launch through the use of sensors such as strain gauges and thermocouples. Some of my accomplishments have been successfully creating new standard operating procedures for certain tasks DAQ must complete and being a Research Engineer tasked with the overseeing of strain gauge-related work during a static fire (November 2022). As a member of the Center for Undergraduate Research at Viterbi Engineering (CURVE), I worked as an undergraduate research fellow at the Space Engineering Research Center (SERC), a research group dedicated to satellite-related studies and projects affiliated with the USC Information Sciences Institute. There, I performed design work related to multiple projects - which involved the use of SolidWorks software - alongside performing research on different aspects of the project.
