The programs implemented cover criminal justice reform, human rights monitoring and advocacy, natural resources governance, gender justice, civic space promotion and transitional justice.

  I have led the strategic development of the Uganda country office and managed its staff and projects. I have diversified and expanded the country portfolio and developed new programs in criminal justice reform, civic space promotion, natural resources governance and gender justice. I have supervised a large team of 20 staff and managed a portfolio of 4 grants (annual budget of 2 000 000 euros). Under this role, I have acted as ASF's fully fledged representative with the Uganda government, development partners, the media and civil society for four years.

  I was responsible for the overall management of the ASF Country Office (14 employees), spearheading the development of the Country strategy and implementing projects and programmes. Our projects covered: support to the development of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, development of the national legal aid strategy, pre-trial detention reform and legal aid to refugees in camps and urban settings.

  I led a research team made of (14) data collectors and (1) research associate. The research looked into conditions of the detainees in two Congolese prisons (Boma and Matadi, Kongo Central) with both qualitative and quantitative methods. I produced the research report "Why imprison? The realities of imprisonment in the Democratic Republic of the Congo" and the advocacy outlet: "Expériences de la détention dans la prison centrale de Matadi (RD Congo)" (In French only).

• Legal Aid Development Officer

  My role was to coordinate the capacity development of the Burundian bar association and to promote their role in the national legal aid strategy. My work focused on building the bar's internal processes for quality control of legal assistance, coordinating research to inform the legal aid policy and setting up the training curriculums for Burundian lawyers. The latter was done in collaboration with the "Centre de Formation des Professionnels de la Justice".
