  Before I started working on my PhD thesis, I was working on a software package for simulating microstructures such as fibers. The system includes stochastic structure generation (using voxel grids for representation), visualization (OpenGL and CPU-based raycasting) and simulation (flow simulation, both on desktop machines and clusters).
