At TNO we searched for a method to speed up an Atomic Force Microscope measurement. By measuring in a medium more dense that air, we could increase the damping, thus lowering the settling time of the cantilever. A lower settling time means a faster measuring speed. An imaging time decrease of more than 8 minutes was observed. At TNO we searched for a method to speed up an Atomic Force Microscope measurement.
