I worked with Roisin at the BBC and cannot recommend her highly enough. She worked as part of our YouTube team on all BBC Children's content output on the YT platform. She has shown sound judgement and attention to detail in all the work she did with us. She also has such a positive "can-do" attitude that makes it a pleasure to work with her. It's all you can ask from in a member of the team in my book. Roisin would be an asset to any team or company.

    • Producer
      • Nov 2017 - Present

I most recently worked as Scriptwriter/Director/Producer on 'The Death of a Muse', a tragicomedy about the lives of WB Yeats and Maud Gonne, which is being performed at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival. After completing the script, my responsibilities included casting the actors, ensuring the correct paper work is drawn up on time, contacting venues for rehearsals, overseeing the lighting and sound design, liaising with actors to amend conflicting schedules, running rehearsals, and running the social media accounts to promote the production. Here, I was able to utilise my skills in communication, punctuality, organisation, theatre techology, leadership and social media marketing to its fullest potential in order to create a highly entertaining and memorable production. I was even able to sell out two of our three shows. The production was also nominated for three awards at the Manchester Fringe Festival awards - Best Drama, Best Ensemble, and 'Write For The Stage' New Writing award. Show less

While I worked at BBC as a researcher, I was given authority over the CBBC, CBeebies and Mr Tumble YouTube channels, and aided in the creation of three new channels - Bedtime Stories, Molly and Mack, and Swashbuckle. My main duties in my role included the use of Adobe Creative Suite for thumbnail creation and video editing. I was also trained in SEO, working with children and the use of BBC internal systems. My thumbnail design for 'Bedtime Stories' was so popular with Producers, it became the official thumbnail template for the channel. I was also tasked with creating viral memes for the 'Hacker T Dog' twitter and instagram accounts, which were extremely well received and garnered over 12,000 likes. Show less

This was an extremely valuable experience, as I was able to gain customer service and retail skills, as well as enhancing my communication and team working skills. My responsibilities in the role included the pricing, labelling and processing of stock, till duties and cash handling, housekeeping and the replenishment and rotation of stock. Another beneficial duty of this role, which I particularly enjoyed and excelled at, was greeting customers and facilitating their requests as best I could; answering questions about the stock and encouraging them to buy the items they desired. I also was able to assist differently abled customers with their more specific needs; such as helping elderly customers with reduced mobility take their shopping to their car. Show less
