Professor Theidon is currently a Fulbright Scholar in Colombia and conducting research on the implementation of the Colombian Constitutional Court’s decision that the Río Atrato is a river with rights and a victim of the armed conflict. In my role as her research assistant, I will be conducting research to understand 'rights of nature' legislation as they have been enacted in different parts of the world, paying special attention to the kind of language used in these legislations.
