  Roger’s areas of practice include counseling clients on IP strategy, preparation and prosecution of patent applications, patent appeals, reexamination and reissue applications and trademark availability and prosecution, patent, trademark, trade secret and software licensing, domestic and foreign, and general counseling for startup and growth companies, including due diligence evaluations, review and evaluation of patent portfolios, IP licenses and litigation support. He has extensive experience in patent validity and infringement opinions, and has served as a patent law expert in a number of cases. In addition, his practice also includes a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor physics and devices, semiconductor processing and processing equipment, transistor level analog and digital circuits and systems, radar systems, mechanical and electromechanical devices and systems, and software. His practice further includes aeronautical engineering matters, including aircraft and aerodynamic structures, boundary layer characteristics and related matters, having once started a masters degree program in aeronautical engineering while at Cornell University. Prior to entering the practice of law, Roger worked as an aerothermodynamicist analyzing external and internal transient temperatures of high speed and reentry vehicles, and then spent the majority of his engineering work in electromechanical instrument design and development, culminating with Litton Systems, Guidance and Control Systems Division. This included experience in a far range of disciplines, including mechanical and electromechanical systems design and development, magnetic circuit design and linear control systems. The combination of his engineering work experience and legal experience combined with degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering and the law provide high tech intellectual property expertise in a broad range of technologies.
