After commissioned as an officer in the Singapore armed forces, I was posted as Company 2nd-In Charge, working hand in hand with 4 other officers and over 100 men in a company. My last six months in Full-time SAF was spent as a DYS1(manpower officer) in charge of battalion HR matters. During my role as a manpower officer, i came in touch with financial planning for my men, usually to advise financial 101 tips on budgeting/expense and if necessary, to provide financial aid to needy soldiers upon house visits.
