Some of the symptoms of DES include dry and burning eyes, redness, itching, tearing, visual fluctuations, light sensitivity, and even headache. Dr. i-Coach monitors all known DES risk factors and provides real-time on-screen feedbacks or "nudges" to the users so they can correct their bad habits. It also allows users to perform simple visual acuity tests, electronic Amsler grid for macular screening, and color perception test in the comfort of their homes or offices. The collected data, such as time spent staring at the screen, viewing distance, posture, ambient lighting conditions, excessively low blink rate or poor blink pattern, will be displayed on a dashboard with a propriatary scoring system and can also be shared with users' eye care providers, parents, or even employers (corporate version), so they can get a deeper understanding of users' ocular issues.
