My role was focused on evaluating and developing potentially patentable technological concepts aimed at mitigating environmental impact on various areas. My tasks included: -Performing feasibility analysis and conceptual design of a Wave Energy Converter application. -Doing Previous-art searches for various concepts in patent databases such as the USPTO and WIPO. -Experimentally testing a proof-of-concept small-scale model of a coastal protection system. Interned at the Engine Simulation division, focusing on fluid mechanics. My tasks included -Geometry preparation for 3D-CFD simulations -Participation in the development of a methodology to study thermal-runaway events with 3D-CFD -Simulation of engine in-cylinder flows, focusing on intake port optimization -Aid in the calibration of transient 3D-CFD model for a SI engine. -General post-processing, results analysis and presentation. Responsible for the activities, planning and adequate performance of the Suspension Subteam and the car's suspension system.
