Responsible for ensuring that work performed by IMFB on controlled systems or components (e.g., SUBSAFE/Hull Integrity (SS), Level 1 (LI), or other controlled work in support of TRIDENT submarine refits, the Trident Periodic Equipment Replacement Program (TRIPER), Advanced Equipment Repair Program (AERP), Periscope Regional Repair Center (PRRC), and other assigned ship/submarine repairs) comply with technical requirements, and established standards of quality. Work independently without supervision to coordinate plan and execute audits, special audits, reviews, assessments, and surveillances of IMFB maintenance processes and procedures. Investigate and identify quality assurance controls and reviews controlled work procedures (CWPs) and processes for SUBSAFE Re-entry Control, Level I, and other controlled work to assure technical accuracy and verify that Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) generated will support work re-certification. Maintained the quality and business management system per ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 Analyzed test data and made computations as necessary to determine test results. Discussed inspection results with those responsible for performing maintenance, and recommended necessary corrective actions. ISO 9000/9001/14001 auditor. Conduct and record receipt inspections on all vendor provided material using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges and other tools necessary to insure that the material is within specification for use on the overall product. Provide computer measurement services to produce parts per customer specifications. Measurement methods include PC-DMIS CMM machines, Caliper, Micrometer and gages. Hundreds of drawings analyzed for GD&T and standard dimensioning to produce correct First Article and remaining parts. Performed NDT examinations & evaluating findings, for quality and/or repair during turnarounds, and informing customers of testing results. On-stream tasks included producing hand drawn field sketches of equipment, collecting UT thickness readings, revising previous isometric drawings, writing reports, and assisting other technicians to assure assignments were completed on time.
