  The four core functions of my day to day work includes but not limited to;1) Safety - At all times ensure safety of PNG Power personnel, General Public and PNG Power Equipment & Property are safeguarded by;1a) Disconnect and make safe section of the system so that work may be carried out.1b) The reconnection after completion of work.1c) The restoration of supply after an operational fault.2) Quality - Ensure adequacy of supply to satisfy demand by controlling and monitoring the quality of supply ( voltage & frequency). In doing so, Generations and Load demand at different times of the day are kept balanced to maintain the quality of supply.3) Economy - Minimize cost at all times. Depending on the rain falls, hydro stations are to be maximized and Thermal station to be utilized to meet the demands. 4) Security - Likelihood of interruption are to be minimized.   My assignment during the 3 months internship was to investigate the Load Shedding System of the PNG LNG Plant. Inside Electrical Control and Management System (ECMS) is the Load shedding system. I investigated how and why load shedding is activated. I also did some inventory controls for the Laptop used during construction phase of the project. Apart from work, I did some voluntary activities including delivering Christmas gifts to the Port Moresby General Hospital Children Ward.
