Key projects include: - Caversham Village Shopping Centre (managed the design, tender, construction and leasing) prior to successful opening in July 2016; - Taylor Private Estate, Caversham: a master-planned community in Perth's Swan Valley of 700 plus homesites and associated facilities. Led the project's delivery of some 10 of 15 planned stages to date. Guided all aspects of finance, marketing and development. - Mixed Use / Apartments, Caversham Village: oversee the design of a large new apartment / commercial development including medical centre, gym and cafe/restaurant ahead of project delivery.

  Held the role of Operations Director for the urban growth team of RPS in Perth. The group included town planning, urban design, project management and subsequently landscape architecture, heritage, survey and economics staff. Rod's portfolio of projects included master-planned communities work, regional townsite growth planning (and in particular the Pilbara), city centre rejuvenation, large scale structure planning and industrial planning. His work led to a strong a strong working knowledge of the land development market and approvals challenges for both metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia.

  After joining the practice as a Partner in 2002, Rod played a lead role in building the firm from a team of six professionals to a business of some 35 highly regarded staff of town planners, urban designers and project managers by 2008. As one of three Directors of the practice, Rod led the growth in planning and design work for the Perth office. This included his work on the full range of strategic and statutory planning projects including Pretty Pool, Port Hedland (WA Coastal Planning Award Winner), Exmouth Marina Village and Canal Estates, Roselea Estate in Stirling as well as both residential and industrial estates in the main growth corridors of Perth and Peel. Rod's work with Lend Lease Communities during this period saw them gain their first project in Western Australia, being the Coolbellup School Sites Redevelopment joint venture with LandCorp.

  As one of the senior planning staff Rod undertook a wide array of land development planning work for clients such as PEET, LandCorp and others. Rod worked on projects ranging from Atwell Waters at Atwell (UDIA Award Winner), Ocean Lagoon at Yanchep, St Paul's Estate at Birba Lake, Neerabup Industrial Park and Palm Beach at Rockingham. His work also included early masterplanning input to gain environmental approvals for the now constructed Champion Lakes Regional Rowing course.
