      • Feb 2014 - Dec 2014

As a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate, in collaboration with the University of Salford and Killgerm Group, I lead an innovative research project which examined how new filming techniques, combined with the interpretation of animal behaviour, could help to design a new product and increase sales in a competitive market. The aim of the project was to improve our understanding of mouse behaviour in urban environments; something which had never been attempted before. I used my organisational skills to maintain strong relationships with all parties involved and in order to manage my own time. I also provided Killgerm with publicity materials of common household pests such as Weevils, fruit flies, cockroaches, flour beetles, bed bugs and rats. This gave me a chance to utilise my camera skills, set building and post production skills. I filmed the insects using a Canon 7D and 100mm macro lens on a set, and filmed the rats in their natural habitat using motion sensor cameras, a Canon Legria mini camcorder and Go Pro. Show less
