A LinkedIn page just clued me in to Robin's now being at The Melt instead of Peet's. Well, that is The Melt's gain and Peet's loss for sure. Robin's role at Peet's carried a heavy weight of accountability and responsibility, yet she always knew how to be practical and clearly distinguish between "must haves" and "wish list" items of a project. In addition, she was always respectful of everyone, both senior colleagues, junior colleagues and direct reports. I hope the folks at The Melt know how lucky they are to have her on board.

I was hired to advise the founders and finance team at this VC-backed (+$100M) pre-IPO women’s integrative healthcare practice based on my recent experience scaling a similar healthcare company. I’m working with the executive team and board on their finance strategy and operations, and provide advice regarding investor pitch materials. I was recruited to help this multi-unit medical practice improve accounting controls and systems to support rapid growth in preparation for going public. My role expanded from managing a team of 5 to a team of 40 as total employees went from 700 to 1,600. I supported revenue growth from $70M to $380M (CAGR 33%) and expansion from 27 to 77 primary care offices in 9 markets leading up to the January 2020 IPO. I developed the finance strategy and infrastructure to support rapid growth of this equity-financed fast-casual restaurant concept backed by Sequoia Capital and supported the CEO in a second financing round. I prepared and presented finance-related materials at board meetings and managed relationships with banks, auditors, and insurers. My team managed finances for 14 stores and 8 food trucks. I managed a team of 18 for this public company, including developing accounting policies, auditing, SEC reporting, income tax, Sarbanes-Oxley, and treasury. We supported revenue growth from $120M to $370M and managed finances related to building a $30M roasting facility, opening 120 new stores, developing myriad new products, and expanding distribution channels. I also prepared and led audit committee meetings and performed due diligence prior to the company’s sale in 2012.
