These were confirmed when I worked with him on a project that spanned the entire stack. I grew to respect him as a software architect that fosters a cooperative developer culture. Roberto maintains a focus on the main thread of the problem. Never going at it alone, he distributed tasks that he knew can be parallelized and pulled those other threads in as they completed. I found it incredibly easy to approach him when blocked by a difficult task, or to help with software design decisions. He constantly switched gears between different problem spaces in trying to help others, yet somehow completed his own tasks with time to spare. [As this is highly suspect, I am almost certain he has developed minions robots to work on his own tasks.] I believe having Roberto around fosters a culture absent of competitiveness. He often had great suggestions in my pull requests that focused on the bigger picture, but first tried to fully understand my perspective and how I approached the problem. I saw this in comments he left for other people's code as well, and it shows that he leads by example and upholds high standards in the projects that he leads, while nurturing a culture where developers feel validated and empowered. I would be happy to work with him again.
