Aidan Hanly
I worked with Robert on a variety of projects at Vancouver Film School. Most notably, we worked together on a team for our VFS final project, titled "Adrenalyn". Robert demonstrated clear passion and talent for both Environmental Art, and Level Design. He consistently pushed and improved himself over the course of the project, and the high quality of his work in turn enabled our Level Design team to do fantastic work. He would frequently share the design insights he had gathered with myself and the third Level Designer on the project. And I firmly believe that our game's visual fidelity wouldn't have been possible without his work on the environmental art kits. I would definitely work with Robert again, and I'm excited to see where he takes his diverse set of talents in the future.

Robert is an incredibly driven individual, who is as comfortable following as he is leading. The quality of the project he is working on is always at the forefront of his thoughts, and his immensely warm and personable attitude makes it easy to work with him, even when things get tough. I would absolutely love to work with Robert again, and I feel that he would be an amazing addition to any team.

GEARS 5 LIVE OPERATIONS & DLC - Writing and implementing dynamic dialogue/barks for post-launch characters. Providing direction in voiceover sessions.- Supplemental writing and narrative implementation in Unreal Blueprints visual scripting for DLC.- Developed a new dynamic dialogue/barks script template for our team, improving our workflow.GEARS OF WAR FRANCHISE SUPPORT - Writing and editing copy for marketing materials and licensed products.- Ensuring franchise continuity in our comics and novels, such as Hivebusters and Gears of War: Bloodlines.GEARS: TACTICS- Wrote dynamic dialogue/barks for all generic "redshirt" soldiers and Augustus Cole.- Advised on how to adapt existing enemy voice-over content to in-game dialogue events.GEARS 5- Implemented campaign scripted dialogue in Unreal Engine, using Blueprints visual scripting. - Designed, wrote, and implemented eighty collectibles, supporting story comprehension and enriching the fiction.- Wrote and implemented dynamic dialogue/barks for over twenty-five unique characters with a focus on multiplayer, including promotional characters from other franchises.- Helped direct dozens of voice recording sessions for dynamic dialogue/barks, ensuring the right tone, maintaining consistency, selecting takes, and providing context and character information for our performers.- Coordinated with our creative director, multiplayer design director, franchise lead, and programmers to design and implement the narrative systems of Gears 5's new PVE mode: Escape.
