I had the opportunity to join prof. M. Ceccarelli’s Bioinformatics laboratory. I had the chance to work also with ph.D researcher from the New York Columbia University and with the prof. L. Buonaguro, head of Cancer Immunomodulation Unit Cancer National Institute "Pascale". For my thesis we developed a bioinformatics pipeline to investigate in a larger perspective the neoantigen landscape of different types of tumour. We collected pan-cancer whole exome sequencing data from TCGA and and performed a binding affinity prediction analysis with NetMHC in batch mode with custom scripts. We performed correlation and survival analysis to clarify the role of neoantigens in the tumour evolution. We performed enrichment analysis, method mww-gst, to analyse the correlation between different immune gene signatures and the neoantigen load.

During my undergraduate thesis I joined prof. Gabriella Esposito's laboratory of Clinical molecular biology. Argument of my thesis was the role of Aldolase B enzyme in the Hereditary Fructose Intolerance. We built a plasmid construct that could lead to the expression of the enzyme fused to the Green fluorescent protein in eukaryotic cells (HEK293). We created the construct through molecular cloning and then investigated the Aldolase B expression with Western Blot and its intracellular localization with fluorescence microscopy.
