Senior Technician

As part of this role I am responsible for managing the team of technicians within the department, ensuring that they are deployed where needed and that their job lists are prioritised correctly and deadlines are met. I also carry out training with staff where appropriate. Also, I am responsible for managing and maintaining the Music, Music Technology and Media equipment and resources. These include a music studio, music rehearsal rooms, music and media computer suites operating on both Mac and Windows operating systems running software including Logic, Sonar and the Adobe Suite. As well as this I also provide support to college events and performances by supporting the setting up and running of the PA and lighting in the various performance spaces. The role also requires me to assist with the planning of the technological development of the departments and to order new equipment as required in conjunction with the members of academic staff and other support departments. I am also experienced in purchasing equipment and resources in accordance with budget and financial requirements.
