As a software engineer for CSRA, primary responsibilities involve designing and developing code for the Electronics Grants System (EGS). Have the privilege to work in a small team environment that utilizes the Agile Methodologies, thus providing opportunities to work in all phases of software development to include: requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of modules.Other duties performed on a daily basis include providing immediate customer service in regards to technical issues, providing support during daily team stand up meetings, completing deployments to the production system after work hours, and provide any ad-hoc data requests to complete task requests from CDMRP leadership.Accomplishments include being successful in introducing Struts into EGS, helping facilitate the transition to Groovy and Grails environment, as well as, modifying the underlying system to support more than just one client. Within EGS, have been instrumental in assisting in the search functionality, updating existing modules, and creating brand new functionalities. Assisting in almost all areas of EGS, has provided a vast array of knowledge of the systems and the CDMRP business process.

As a Programmer Analyst, maintained, designed, and debugged the Electronic Management System (EMS) Help Desk application under the CMMI Level 3 software engineering environment. Obtained knowledge of relational databases, particularly Oracle. Through constant research of new technologies, developed skills in JAVA JfreeChart, AJAX, and JAVA POI, which is used to allow JAVA to access Microsoft format files. Also assisted the configuration management team with ClearCase duties that included building the EMS Help Desk package for test purposes.Primarily responsible for developing the redesign of the Help Desk Web application. The effort required the conversion of “C” language, Perl scripts and shell scripts into JAVA. Work was focused on the design and development of the graphical user interface (front-end), which connected to the “backend” JAVA code that accessed the database and perform calculations. Utilized JAVA JFreeChart to create graphical pie charts, line charts, and bar charts that represent statistics from Modernized E-File (MeF) XML files. Have also used the MeF statistics and JAVA POI to organize and place the statistics within Microsoft Excel workbooks.
