Additionally, I attend regular meetings for discussion and reflection on child's progress and our own work. My role includes helping the children's emotional wellbeing and social reintegration via dyadic developmental psychotherapy and mindfulness. Modelling and PACE styled social interaction is core to my work and effectiveness as a care worker. I have completed mindfulness qualifications and utilise calming techniques with the children. My role involves assisting in the children's therapeutic interventions and discussion with wider social services. I am also lucky enough to be a Keyworker role with a child, a more involved relationship and responsibility for their wellbeing. In May 2018 I was given the chance to take over the role of Therapies Assistant. This involved researching new therapies and training to be implemented on site as well as performing literature reviews to ensure the current therapies were effective for the children. One of my responsibilities is to liaise with therapists and ensure everyone is working towards the same goals in recovery. In July 2018 I completed a Theraplay course and began to implement it into my therapeutic work. Show less
